c Corning NY. week 25. an explanation.

Why no pictures from the moon?

I got confused because all I could find up in the sky was a big red orb.

Once back I found out what happened:

"A highly-anticipated lunar eclipse which coincided with 2010's winter solstice for the first time in some 400 years. NASA reports that the last time these astronomical events took place in sync was on Dec. 21, 1638, and it won't happen again until at least 2094." Huffington Post

Of course the night I fly to the moon just happens to be the first lunar eclipse on the winter solstice in 400 years.
So, I landed in the Niagara River just in time for the 25 week anniversary celebrations.
Next time!

c Corning NY. week 25. c's first Christmas!!!

When we came downstairs Christmas morning there was a present for ME under the tree!

The presents were so thoughtful. Even an antique necklace! And a suitcase just my size. (Maybe I can visit London some day!) Even an apron for mini mini c.

Final Christmas conclusion: I LOVE PRESENTS!

and Family and good food!

C and c Corning, NY. week 25. the DE-UNION or goodbye

The morning after the remarkable 25 anniversary REUNION party, we had to say goodbye once again.
C and c Niagara Falls move to London on the 26th of December!

That was hard.

Just at those moments when you are feeling the most alone, missing your dear friends something terrible,
and wishing once again that things would stop changing,

into your car walks a boy.

He says his name is mini CC.

c Chicago. week 24. maiden voyage of apollo-c

i am currently aboard apollo-c. after many delays and malfunctions, i was finally able to take off this morning.
mission: the moon. current location: no idea!
it is difficult taking pictures from a moving space craft.
i will practice and hopefully by next week i will be on the moon and able to take better space shots!
not sure what is planned for week 25. hope it is not a problem that i am somewhere out in space. not sure if i will be back by week 25.

signing off,
c

p.s. I am so excited to hear you are going to London! The visa's arrived! Cannot wait for the next part of that adventure

c Niagara Falls. week 24. to claim or not to claim...

dear c,

this week marks the start of a new chapter in my life.  i received my passport and work visa in the mail.  after x-mas we are off to london!

looking to reclaim  what was once mine, last night i went venturing back into that secret room in the basement.  it was dark and i tripped over what appears to be an old suitcase from the 1800's.  i did not leave with what i went in for, but this suitcase may be the perfect thing for my new adventure.

p.s.  you mentioned the C's had something BIG planned... what do you think it might be?

c chicago. week 23. space travel. part 2.

journey begins

c chicago. week 23. space travel. part 1.

dear c,
Ever since my plane ride all I can think about is air travel.
I decided to do a bit of research on the internet.
Then, while searching "NASA" I found on C's hard drive some pictures from a performance C produced in Buffalo NY, RANT's TelosScope.
There were NASA Scientists!

NASA NASA NASA
Hidden in the back of a storage closet...
I found this art.
First of all, what is C's connection to NASA? Who are these scientists? And how can I get to the moon! (and beyond of course)
Maybe next time from space,
c
p.s. I hear the C's have something special planned for week 25. Do you know any more information than that? What could be happening in just 2 weeks!

c North Country. week 22. part 2.

c,
You probably noticed my new winter gear! C's mom bought it for me at a Christmas Bizarre here in the North Country. Now I am warm, toasty and fashionable. Now if only I could get some winter shoes.
c

C North Country. week 22. c's first HIKE

Big C here. I decided to narrate this post because c scared the heck out of me.
B and I decided to take c on her first hike (in the snow!).
Solely the sound of snow crunching beneath our feet and not another person for miles. However, while B and I were listening to a woodpecker, trying to locate him in the trees above, c disappeared! She was no longer on the path.
My heart started to race. She is pretty darn small, basically a city girl with no wood smarts and there she was off in the wilderness alone. AND I recently read that there is a new breed of coywolves out in the north country. Coyotes bred with wolves that are out attacking people (well ok, one person, but still pretty scary).
Then we noticed some mini footprints leading off the path into the woods.

There she was. Oh that c! She said she wanted to climb a mountain.
B held her hand the rest of the hike.
c certainly has a taste for adventure!
C

c North Country. week 22. my very first...

SNOW!!!

It is cold, wet, in your face and I did not have proper winter attire!
C has promised to make me a winter coat, but has yet to complete it.
So here we are up north in snow country and I have on summer mary janes and no jacket.
First C tried to get me to wear a sock (inspired by your life jacket) and then she put me in this ridiculous sleeve of a sweater (which greatly limits my mobility). However, once I got myself situated, and my head covered, I realized snow can be quite lovely. I like being all snuggly in myself and watching it fall around me.

Solitude of snow.
Not sure if I want to go back to the city. Maybe I will be c of the North Country forever!
