c Corning NY. week 25. an explanation.

Why no pictures from the moon?

I got confused because all I could find up in the sky was a big red orb.

Once back I found out what happened:

"A highly-anticipated lunar eclipse which coincided with 2010's winter solstice for the first time in some 400 years. NASA reports that the last time these astronomical events took place in sync was on Dec. 21, 1638, and it won't happen again until at least 2094." Huffington Post

Of course the night I fly to the moon just happens to be the first lunar eclipse on the winter solstice in 400 years.
So, I landed in the Niagara River just in time for the 25 week anniversary celebrations.
Next time!
